How many years of sales experience did you have prior to working for SHC?
I had 4-5 years of actual selling experience prior to joining SHC.
What was the most difficult part of your learning curve with SHC?
Difficulties arose when I behaved like a lecturer instead of an educator to all the seniors I would meet. I did not talk to them in a tone that was my natural conversational self. Rather, I came across as too arrogant. This caused me to tell my customers what risks they were facing, instead of getting their agreement that they would not want those risks if there was any way to avoid them. Those mistakes when I started with SHC were humbling, but in the long run became a profitable experience, as I learned what not to do and what to do (basically follow the system I was trained versus doing it my own way!). However, it still occassionally rears its ugly head even today if I get desperate and begin to press harder at making sales, instead of just getting back to the basics of my training while being myself and having fun. I love helping seniors and now training new consultants to be successful, it has made my carreer all the more gratifying.
