How many years of sales experience did you have prior to working for SHC?
I have sold products and services off and on for the last 20 years, but no reward long term. My background extends from tangible to intangible financial services. The net result was up front income with no equity. That was not very attractive for future income stability, job security, or planning for a retirement.
What was the most difficult part of your learning curve with SHC?
Accepting the fact that Medicare is changing so fast that most people in this niche market do not have the knowledge to do the best thing for the senior. SHC has example after example of success within the organization. The first few weeks require extensive study 12-18 hours a day of very intensive continuing education and exposure to the industry products and changes in Medicare programs. SHC truly sets themselves apart from the rest of industry by being willing to do what most people won't do to achieve the levels of success you set for yourself. SHC has the leadership, the products, and the true real desire to be the "best of the best" in this industry, not only as an organization, but most importantly to the clients we serve. SHC will eventually take over the senior healthcare market. This environment is truly "be good or be gone." If you are an individual starting with SHC that has any prior sales experience, be prepared for a steep learning curve. The best advice to this person is to eliminate your sales ego and go back to being the person you were when you first started in sales, back when you were highly trainable because you knew nothing about selling. Back then you listened better and followed leadership closer and were successful faster. SHC doesn't teach you to sell, they teach you not to sell and that is why a career with SHC is only for the right person. Just have an open mind to do what is necessary to develop into one of the "best of the best", which if you make it with SHC, then that is what you will be. Is it easy? No, it is not easy, but I'm not going to worry about the future anymore! SHC leadership will provide the opportunity! Just be willing to have an open mind.
