HOW MANY YEARS OF SALES EXPERIENCE DID YOU HAVE PRIOR TO WORKING FOR SHC?
I had just over 5 years of business to business sales and no in-home sales experience prior to joining SHC.
WHAT WAS THE MOST DIFFICULT PART OF YOUR LEARNING CURVE?
The most difficult part of my learning curve was just learning not to take things personally. That is important in any sales position, but it can be difficult when dealing with a senior population to understand that maybe the customer just doesn't understand what I am talking about. It isn't that they don't believe me or don't trust me. It is just that I have to give more details and spend more time with the senior population. Maybe it is my fault if they don't understand my program because I am not clear on every point that I have to present. I also had to learn to think like a senior. What are their concerns? How do they make decision? What are their values? How do they think? Once I began to understand the clients, the rest became easy.
