1. An Excellent Work Ethic - Someone who is not afraid to work until the job is done (In our case until they have hit their quota or goal for the week).

2. Perseverance - Someone who can handle the ups and downs that are inherent to a commission sales position. We are not looking for someone who has a bad week and then goes running back to the $43,000 salary.

3. Previous Sales Experience - People who have prior sales experience have a distinct advantage over those new to the sales profession. Those with experience marketing intangible (service oriented) products are some of our most successful candidates.

4. Trainable - There are many ways to approach this market, but we have developed a system that has proven to be very successful time and time again. We are looking for salespeople who are trainable and are willing and able to learn something totally new. This may be the most important and necessary trait to be successful with SHC.

5. Ability to Work a Full Schedule - We work a Tuesday through Friday work week, but they are very full days, as these are the days that our preset appointments are set. Our first appointment is typically at 9 and our last appointment is at 4:30PM , which translates into a 10-12 hour average work day. Our National Sales Meeting is held Monday morning and many consultants use the afternoon to get a head start on the week. In summary, people who have many personal responsibilities during the hours of the normal work week often struggle with our busy schedule.

6. Enjoy Working in the Senior Market - Virtually all of our customers are senior citizens. If you do not enjoy working with the senior market this is probably not going to be a good fit.
